We’re officially halfway through the year, and after months of beautiful weddings, thoughtful celebrations, and unforgettable weekends, there are already a few moments we can confidently say we’ve absolutely loved seeing throughout the first half of 2026!
Interestingly, many of these moments aren’t necessarily about over-the-top details or huge productions. They’re the moments that made weddings feel immersive, intentional, emotional, and genuinely fun to experience — both for couples and their guests.
From garden ceremonies to couples actually enjoying cocktail hour, these are some of our favorite wedding moments we’ve seen and loved so far this year.
Live painters have continued to be one of our favorite additions to weddings this year because they create such a unique atmosphere throughout the evening. Guests naturally gather around the canvas, watching the painting slowly come to life moment by moment.
It becomes more than entertainment or décor — it becomes part of the experience itself.
There’s also something romantic about seeing a fleeting moment transformed into something permanent right in front of you. It slows people down in the best way and creates such a beautiful focal point throughout the celebration.
One of the biggest shifts we’ve loved seeing this year is couples truly prioritizing time together during their wedding day.
Instead of spending the entire celebration moving from obligation to obligation, more couples are intentionally slowing down and actually experiencing the wedding together. Whether that means private last dances, sunset portraits, sitting together during dinner, or even getting ready together, these pauses always end up being some of the most meaningful parts of the day.
Weddings move fast. Being intentional about staying present with each other completely changes how the celebration feels.
You can always tell when couples genuinely enjoyed their wedding day together. The energy feels different.
Even larger weddings have started feeling more personal this year — and we’ve absolutely loved that shift.
Instead of overpacking weekends with nonstop schedules and events, couples are creating wedding weekends that feel more relaxed, immersive, and connected for their guests. Welcome parties feel more conversational, group dinners feel more intentional, and the overall atmosphere feels less performative and more experiential.
Especially in destination locations, couples are leaning into the idea that weddings are about more than one single evening. They’re creating opportunities for guests to genuinely spend time together and experience the destination alongside them.
The result? Wedding weekends that feel warm, personal, and genuinely memorable.
This may seem like a small thing, but it has honestly been one of our favorite wedding shifts of the year.
For so long, cocktail hour was treated as the time when couples disappeared for photos while guests mingled without them. But more couples are now intentionally structuring timelines so they can actually attend their own cocktail hour — and it completely changes the energy of the celebration!
After months of planning the atmosphere, the music, the drinks, and the guest experience, couples are finally getting to enjoy those moments alongside everyone else.
Some of the best candid moments happen during cocktail hour. Conversations feel relaxed, guests feel welcomed immediately, and the entire evening flows more naturally when couples are part of those early celebration moments.
As a WCO Events wedding planning team, this has easily been one of our favorite things to see this year.
This one will probably always make our list.
In our opinion, a garden ceremony instantly makes a wedding feel immersive and romantic before the ceremony even begins. The movement of the trees, the natural light, the layered greenery, the feeling of being completely surrounded by nature — it creates an atmosphere that feels timeless every single time.
And we’ve seen some incredibly beautiful garden ceremonies throughout the first half of this year.
Whether it’s a tropical ceremony beneath the palms at or an intimate candlelit garden setup, outdoor ceremonies continue to create some of the most emotional and visually stunning moments of the entire wedding day.
The setting itself becomes part of the experience.
More than anything, the weddings we’ve loved most this year are the ones that felt personal. The ones where couples focused less on perfection and more on atmosphere, connection, and creating meaningful experiences for the people they love most.
And honestly? We can’t wait to see what the second half of wedding season brings.
