Don’t forget to live in the moment.
Wedding planning is one of those things that has a tendency to make you lose sight of that – and often causes you to stress about things over which, in the end, there is no control. Take time out for yourself, and focus on what matters most: You, your health, and your happiness.
Spend Time With Your Fiance
One of the biggest complaints that couples have about planning their wedding is that it took over their lives. It becomes all-consuming and the stress can be overwhelming. We recommend taking time off from wedding planning here and there, and enjoying a well deserved date. Plan a date night at your favorite restaurant, enjoy a bottle of champagne while watching the sunset, or book a couple’s massage at your local spa. This will give you both some much needed time away from the planning process and refocus on the most important thing: your relationship.
Enjoy Your Favorite Activities/Hobbies
If you’re looking for an escape from wedding planning (even if it’s just for an hour or two) Then pick up that book you’ve been wanting to read, start writing in your journal again, try painting, or greet the day with an energizing yoga session. Taking time to focus on yourself and your other hobbies will ultimately help you feel more relaxed and productive when it’s time to get back to the wedding projects.
Meet Up With Friends
The best part about having friendships is being able to rely on your friends for support when you need it. There is nothing better than getting with your besties to get your mind off of stressors like wedding planning. Catch up over brunch or coffee, go out for a girls night, or just chat on the phone. You’ll be surprised at what a little bit of laughter can do for you.
Find A Way To Relax
Relaxation is key. Schedule a massage, take a yoga class – anything that will have you feeling more refreshed. It’s okay to get stressed out during the planning stages. The best thing you can do when that happens is to step back, take a deep breath and relax. You’ll be better prepared to deal with issues when you’re not frazzled.
Getting married is one of the most exciting, nerve-racking and emotional experiences you will ever go through. With so much to plan and so many people to please, it can be easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of wedding planning.
After all, you want to create the most special day for your partner and your friends and family too. But remember that planning a wedding is not the same as planning your future together — your wedding is just one day, but your marriage will last a lifetime.
